- Agree the initial phrase and replacements privately, in person. Do not send the phrase by text, email or social media.
- Make sure they're easy to say over a phone call
- Change them every 6 months at a group meeting
- Everyone in your group should know them
- If the phrase is wrong or forgotten, end the call and verify independently using your agreed callback plan.
